day three of our new life

Another name for Baby Girl came to me at 2am last night. Georgia aka Georgie. So that's today's tryout.

The first night she wouldn't leave the safety of her sofa. Last night she slept the whole night in bed with me, curled up close. What heaven!

Here I am, each of my little head
furs inviting you to touch me.

Georgie has the most discrimination regarding food of any dog I've ever met.

This morning I fed her boiled chicken thigh, baked yam and egg. It occurred to me that I'll have to figure out how much to feed her so she doesn't gain weight. F
eeding like this isn't like measuring out 1 1/2 cups of dog food. And she's not like Bird, who the vet told me I couldn't feed too much.

But this morning she ate about 2/3 of what I put in her bowl and then walked away. Imagine a dog leaving a bowl unfinished. It appears maybe that she'll self-regulate her food intake.

Here I am, on my new porch where I
can
sniff and bark at the horse
I see down in the pasture.

  2. I like her no matter what name! I'm glad she's decided that cuddling with you trumps sleeping on the couch at night--she looks like such a sweet velveteen pittie. "Georgie Girl!" sounds very nice if you wanted to holler for a dog to come...

  5. I can't imagine my bed without little (well, not really so little) furry bodies in it.
I'm so glad that she has decided that hogging the bed and covers will be in your future again.

  6. Breakfast usually is a smaller amount eaten because their metabolism drops at night so dinner should go better...a trainer told me that. She's really a pretty girl. Probably still in shock from leaving the shelter too. That takes a while to wear off. Have a great weekend together.
