bird's paw
I received a condolence card in the mail yesterday signed by my vet, Dr. Katheryn Hinkle, and all of her staff at the Animal Hospital of Cotati. On the front of the card was Bird's paw print. I had no idea this was coming and was blindsided by it. One look at the paw and my grief exploded. But having Bird's paw print is a treasure for me.
Here's my paw print that
the vet sent to my Lady.
What a special gift they gave you to remember Miss Birdy. How beautiful. Thanks for sharing Miss Birdy's life and passing with us.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely memento. I hope your grief eases soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and kind on the part of your vet and staff. They were very thoughtful to give you a part of her as a remembrance. You have every right to be very emotional . We all appreciate your honesty and much thanks for letting all of us in during this time. This treasure sort of speaks to you in a very special way and I'm sure touches you deeply. Thank you and we're all thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteOur vet did that when it was time for our first fur kid to cross the bridge. I remember being caught off guard, and getting emotional also. But you are right in that it is a treasure. I keep it in his memorial box with his collar and ashes. I'm glad your vet did the same for you and Bird. XOXO
ReplyDeleteGrief is like that, it shows up suddenly just when you thought it was staying away.
ReplyDeleteHer paw print is absolutely precious. That was very sweet and thoughful of your vet. I think about little Miss Birdy every day. I know she is in a much better place now. I am sorry for your grief. One day you will be reunited with her again. Until then, keep livin' until the wheels fall off. That's what Birdy would want you to do. Thoughts & prayers from Texas.
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful. I am so sorry for your sadness, but I'm so happy that you have the pawprint. You will love having it. I am sure of it. What a thoughtful, wonderful gift. Sarah in NYC
