til the wheels fall off, redux

I was reading all your comments and I realized that Blogger tricked me. I had written some other important things, that I don't see now. So, I'm back. One of the important things Blogger swallowed was my flight time.

It is tomorrow, Thursday at 4pm, California time.

And until that very moment, I'll keep living til the wheels fall off. Tonight me and my Lady had cheezburgers, fries and a vanilla shake at In N Out Burger. We stopped there and did the same thing the day she came and got me at the Bad Rap Barn. Yes, it was very delicious.

Here I am slurping up my
vanilla shake.

And just because....

Here I am, asking,
'Are you coming?'

  1. Dearest Birdy and Nice Lady,

Like so many others here, I have followed your story since that first BR Barn post of the Halloween skeleton. In the months that followed, you have demonstrated what selfless, unconditional love is to the world, and I must say thank you from the bottom of my heart before Birdy takes flight. Thank you for so lovingly sharing your story and pictures on this blog and giving us the chance to be mesmorized by the blue jewel. I have learned the meaning of true love from your reply on April 5 to Mrs. Moo's comment, about how you just knew Birdy was meant for you... couldn't be better said! Thank you for teaching me about love and what is real. Birdy, I love you and will never forget you too. Til we meet again! Much love to you both.

    Sincerely, Wendy

  3. Birdy, when I heard the other day that your flight time was near, this song came to mind. Next thing I knew, I'd put together a little video. I decided to go ahead and launch it while you were still around to watch it if you want to. Much love, darling girl, and to your Lady, too, on this final day, and thanks so much for the wonderful memories!

  12. Sweet Birdy, may angels guide your wings as you fly away on the wings of love. And may the spirit of those furry friends who've already crossed the rainbow bridge support and strengthen your Loving Lady. I'm thankful you've shared these last 7 months with us and my love and admiration goes to you both as you prepare to take this final journey. No more pain, with love.

  13. I bet that you didn't know, when your Good Samaritan picked you up that day last fall, that you would touch so many people around the world. It has been an honor to watch your sweet life with your Lady. I too will be thinking of you and your Lady at your flight time today. I think you will look fabulous in your Paco Collar and your new wings.

  25. If we may quote the rescuer who intervened in Yoda,(our own Birdie's) fate -
"It is a lesson to me to remember that every life is precious and can unfold in ways that are unseen to my limited mind and spirit."

Thank you, Anneke, for giving Birdie a place in this world.

(Yoda is making a place for her in the next. You sure did a great job here, old girls!)
Our hearts are breaking with you Anneke -Love, Holly and Magnus
